.  Found buried in the sand by a diver in 75 feet of water, Olango Island, Philippines.  Olives are fairly indestructible, I used to find them in great shape all the time on the beach on Kwajalein, but, since I saw so many of them, of course I have very few now, after all, it never occurred to me that we would move away one day.  Strombus dentata was another shell that I found tons of on the beach, in fact, there was one small beach where t
he entire beach
consisted just of that shell, thousands upon thousands of them, yet when I look though my boxes of shells now, again, I have very few to show for how many I could have gotten back then.  O the follies of youth!  I have always wanted to find a
live
olive shell, but my natural inclination to
not
play with sharks interfered with that dream.

As for normal disclaimers, we do the best we can with photos, but color is tricky, especially since cell phone cameras automatically lean towards flesh-tone coloring, (that's why so many of the photos of shells on eBay show up with more orange than is really there, the camera changes the color, and damm if I can figure out how to stop that from happening, but I try, honest!
