CASABLANCA (Warner Brothers, 1942). Original Vintage UNCUT PRESSBOOK (24pp, 11" by 17") plus Original Vintage AD SUPPLEMENT (8pp, 11" by 16"). Humphrey Bogart plays Rick Blaine, a cynical world-weary ex-freedom fighter who runs a nightclub in Casablanca during the early part of WWII. This Michael Curtiz-directed masterpiece is considered by many to be the best film ever made. Pressbooks were prepared prior to a movie being released, developed to give theater owners the artwork, photo images, and press releases that were part of the marketing of the film. Sometimes changes would be made and the theaters themselves would print up special supplements (as the one included here) updating the advertising. An original CASABLANCA pressbook is rare, its supplement even rarer. In FINE condition. Of the two dozen or so CASABLANCA pressbooks we've been able to locate via auction records over the last 20 years, this one is by far the finest in terms of condition. There is a faint horizontal fold and minor edge-wear but this is as good as it gets. Bright, crisp, no tears or rips
or rubbing. Both pressbook and supplement are entirely complete, intact, and remarkably tight.
