Description
Offered here is a 3X5 index card signed by the late Janice Harper.I am selling my collection of autographs that I have purchased several years ago from an array of sources – from eBay sellers, from dealers with professional credentials, and from the signers themselves via the mail. Some came with COA’s; most did not. When I obtained these signatures, I believed them to be genuine and I believed that they were genuine when I posted them on Ebay.
I have received opinions from others, including PSA/DNA whose opinion I sought, indicating that some of the signatures that I have posted were not likely to be genuine. I have pulled those questionable signatures, and will not post them for sale again in the future. It is not my intention to sell autographs that are not authentic, and I will continue do my best to try to ensure that the signatures that I am offering are genuine. As indicated below, all signatures that I sell come with a money-back guarantee if they are judged to be of doubtful authenticity.
If the signature or signatures is/are determined to be inauthentic by a well-recognized autograph expert, this item may be returned for a full refund.

As of January 1, 2021, eBay collects a VAT (Value Added Tax) for the Customs bureau of that country. Some countries charge an exorbitant 20% VAT. Short Bio:
Janice was born in Flushing, New York in 1931.
Initially, Janice’s interest was said to be that of pursuing a career as an interior decorator – but others say that her true interest was in Opera. Interesting that Janice would have already sought out work decorating interiors when not yet 15 years old! What we don’t know about her is what she did from high school graduation in 1949 up to her recording contract in 1957.
Her first label’s head executive, Irving Jerome of Prep Records, obviously thought he had landed a gem, running several national trade ads for her releases. Four of her singles found their way onto the national charts as well as a couple of appearances on the ‘Bubbling Under’ charts.
Don’t know if Prep Records ever had anybody beyond Harper chart – Ray Stevens and Sam Butera were both with the label for a short period of time.
The young singer was talented enough to draw a contract from Capitol Records – recording around a dozen singles before moving on to RCA Victor – so somebody believed in her. She recorded a couple of albums and made appearances on several prominent TV entertainment shows including Ed Sullivan, Steve Allen and Johnny Carson. She appeared twice on American Bandstand in 1957 – Her first appearance also included an appearance by Webb Pierce!
When Harper signed on with RCA Victor she was paired with Brill Building composers/producers Hugo & Luigi (Luigi Creatore/Hugo Peretti). The pairing was for a couple of releases but did not result in chart success.
She was already 26-years-old by the time she started recording and when the “girl group” era hit she was far beyond that genre and her vocal skill transcended that sound anyway.
Janice passed away in May of 2016 apparently after contracting Alzheimer’s disease and spending her final years in a nursing home. From POPROCKBOPTILUDROP
