*This lot is for a Republic Archive Key Book containing (1) 8 x 10" original action still 2-hole-punched and mounted in a Wilson-Jones brown stiff board binder. Original label on cover. Also included is a terrific assortment of (7) scarce-image 4 x 5" contact prints (or perhaps
print downs from 8 x 10" negatives). Lot also includes a studio-made photo page of the original Mini-Pressbook Still Manual, Republic's inventive pint-size promotional piece for their serials.
*These pieces are from a recent discovery of scarce material from what appears to have been Republic's entry into the television market in the 1950s-1960s. Older material was brought forward at that time to support that effort. See more of this great material in our companion auctions and in the weeks to come.

*HISTORICAL CONTEXT: Jungle Girl is a 1941 15-chapter Republic serial starring Frances Gifford. It was directed by William Witney and John English based on the novel Jungle Girl (1932) by Edgar Rice Burroughs. It was the 22nd of the 66 serials produced by Republic.

*STORYLINE: Stars Francis Gifford (borrowed from Paramount) as "Nyoka" and Tom Neal as Jack Stanton.
Dr. John Meredith, ashamed at the crime spree of his evil twin brother, Bradley, travels with his daughter, Nyoka, to Africa. There his skills as a doctor displace Shamba, the resident witch doctor of the Masamba. Years later, Slick Latimer and Bradley Meredith arrive looking for a local diamond mine and team up with the disgruntled Shamba. Bradley kills his brother John and takes his place. They also bring along Jack Stanton and Curly Rogers, who promptly join Nyoka in trying to stop the villains.
