Description

(2) nice Nice Fossilized multi-toned Florida “Pliculofusus Scalarinus” Possibly from the Late Pilocene Era. Horse Conch ancestor.
The age range is estimated to be from 11,000 years to 2.5 million years old!! Amazing!
Fossils are well preserved.
For identification I referred to the Neogene Atlas of Ancient Life on line and I contacted the University of Florida Museum of Natural History’s Invertebrate Paleontology Collections Department and they identified most of my collection as Pleistocene era fossils from the Pinecrest Beds of the Tamiami Formation.
I was informed the different colorization patterns come from what kind of minerals the pieces were in the ground water where they fossilized.
Each shell will be wrapped individually and shipped with care.
