The Grand Place Bar by Serge de Troyer was fabricated in 2012 by Matsuoka International in Japan.   Crafted in a glossy rosewood finish veneer the bar features a pull out felt lined drawer, wine glass hanging rack, and a dividing glass shelf. The interior of the bar also has a mirror lined back giving a glamorous shine and depth to the interior.  This bar was in limited production with only five ever made.
Matsuoka was founded in 1866, on the Japanese island of Honshu, the Matsuoka family began producing exceptionally fine examples of traditional Japanese wedding furniture of royalty and high ranking officials.  For the next 1.5 centuries, the family-owned company has refined and perfected their techniques and kept many ancient artisanal skills alive.  Matsuoka\s reputation for excellence has continued to grow, and it is now deservedly acknowledged as one of the finest furniture makers in the country.  Their meticulous attention to detail, fine quality and the rare and exotic timers used in their pieces, showcase their craft superbly.
In 2012 the company collaborated with Belgian furniture designer Serge de Troyer to create a line of European inspired collection.  Inspired by and named after the bustling Brussels Grand-Place the Grand-Place Bar takes inspiration from its famous namesake square.  As described by Serge de Troyer; what better furniture piece than a bar to capture the spirit of the Centuries-old beer bars that lie hidden down alleys, houses luxury boutiques, opulent guild houses and cafes.  The classic deco design and brass accents embodies the glamor of the place while the gloss rosewood colored veneer is an homage to the award winning chocolateries in the region.  The piece is an heirloom and a true masterpiece.  Sought after by collectors of fine furniture the type of piece that will only increase in value.

The piece is as close to showroom condition as possible. Very minor fine scratches visible if your close up and the light is right which it common with high gloss finished. Other than that the piece is perfect. Please feel free to email any questions.
