Up for auction is a pretty Spondylus butleri. It measures 70 mm (posterior end to valve edge). It is in very good condition. It has nice spines on both valves as the attachment to the substrate was right at the hinge area. The hinge is not intact. This shell was collected in Laminusa, Siasi, Sulu, Philippines.   *The previous collector marked the inner valve with an india ink ID number.
