This Vintage, nearly-couture, one-of-a-kind pant ensemble is shown on our sample sized dress form (36" bust and 27" waist) but this outfit is MUCH larger.
I personally designed, cut and sewed this ensemble for myself for a night out dancing at Ruperts in Minneapolis ('the' place to dance)
. This outfit was created in the late 1980's and I only wore it once (I was self-conscious about the low neckline). The outfit is made out of woven, metallic gold and black tissue lame fabric which is rather fragile. It is beautifully tailored (by myself) and I see that I ended up taking a tuck at each side seam to make it tighter. This tuck can be removed/let out. I estimate at least 2" at the hip (bottom) and at least 3" at the bust area. The entire bustier top is lined with a heavy satin and I suspect an additional stiffening. There is boning in the princess seamlines and the sideseams. Their is an underwire built into the bottom of the cups and thick interfacing in the cups themselves. There is cording in the thin spaghetti straps and there is a couture hook and loop closure above the back zipper.
The pull-on pants have an elastized waistband, 1" hand-hemmed bottom of the legs, with everything serged. The waistline measures about 34" unstretched and will stretch to 48". The full hip area is about 52" around. The pants have an outseam of about 46" and the ankles are about 13" in circumference. The top is about 44" around the bust and 40" at the waist and 45" at the hem. Because of the fragileness of the fabric, I did some mending on the inside seaming. I would suggest serious lining of some of those seams.
To re-create this custom ensemble today, the price range would be perhaps 00.
Please note that our 'samples' are just that - and could have some dust on the hems or a stray snag or blemish caused by when our clients try on the sample to see if they wish any changes. When we list them for our e-Bay store, we are using photos from within a short time of doing the listing. We TRY to note any 'issues' with any snags or marks or dust etc., but we may miss these 'blemishes'. The pricing is obviously MUCH below retail, and are a real bargain - so we hope you forgive us, that they may not be in absolute pristine condition.  They have NOT been worn for performances - only tried on.
Be aware that colors may look different on different computer monitors. We always try to describe the colors, besides providing a picture. If you need an exact color, eBay is probably not your best option! It is great for bargains, however!
