“THE FLORIDA DOZEN” - All shells have been personally beach collected by me in Palm Beach County, Florida. I only collect and offer empty shells. Any shells I find with living inhabitants are always immediately returned to the ocean. I don't offer "diver collected" or "trawled" shells, as generally they were taken from where they live, and offered empty after the living creature inside is forcibly removed (killed).
I collect with a shell bag AND a trash bag for any beach refuse I may find.
I have had the privilege of rescuing beached fish, injured birds, and lost turtles. I always try to leave the beach a little better than when I got there. A portion of every sale goes toward coral reef protection and/or sea turtle protection.
